The club have announced that Alan Judge will depart this summer for pastures new.

Following all his achievements since joining us from Blackburn back in August 2010, Judge has admitted that he was hopeful of securing Championship football with County, but after missing out and his contract expiring in the summer he thinks it’s time he made the step up and competed at a higher level.

Speaking to the Official Site to explain his reasons to fans, Judge said.

‘Ever since I’ve been here, I’ve enjoyed every minute of it and I’ve loved the fans for the way they’ve taken to me. The small minority think I’m going for the money but they’re the people that don’t come to watch the games. If anybody knows me as a person and a player, they know that I always give 100% and I think more or less all of the gans have been great to me and I’d like to say thank you to them.’

Judge continues to say that it’s been a difficult decision because of how he’s settled at the club, and he feels at home here for the last three years, so it will be a big break for him, but he thinks it’s time to move on.

Judge has been public about the club previously in terms of not being settled with managerial changes, so maybe he feels with his growing stock that he’s done enough for the club – fans aside – or given enough time for the club to get where we want to be?

He’s going to be a big loss, there’s no doubt about that.
