Manager Martin Allen was ready to sing the praises of his side after beating Walsall so soon after returning from a meaningless game in Italy.
Goals from Lee Hughes and Cristian Montano helped County to an important win although they were stupid enough to risk the squad with the farce in Juventus.
Allen said: ‘To get a win after being in Turin on Thursday night is terrific. I think the game started about 11 at night.
‘Then they all went out and played against players like that and they didn’t get to bed until two o’clock in the morning, and they were up again at six in the morning to fly back.
‘I haven’t got Champions League players so they are not used to that, so for them to put in a performance like that with the fatigue and the mental energy and drain of playing against Juventus is superb.’
