Academy manager Mick Leonard has said that Romello Nangle’s goal against Colchester was a another huge boost for the academy.

Speaking to the Official Site as Nangle became the first player out of our Academy to score a league goal since it was reformed, Leonard said it was just another achievement that could be placed at the Academy door alongside the likes of Fabian Spiess, Haydn Hollis, Curtis Thompson, Greg Tempest, Liam Mitchell, Kyle Dixon, and Jake Wholey who have all played a role in County’s season.

‘For one of them to score the first goal is huge and well done to Romello, because he’s deserved his chance. He’s been very lively in the youth team, he’s very quick and aggressive but just needs to work on his strength now. We’ve got to remember he’s only just turned 18 and it was a great day.’
