On loan Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jake Cassidy has said his debut couldn’t have gone much better given he found the net in his first competitive game for the club.

Giving us a second half lead at Deepdale against Preston North End, before they unfortunately scored a late leveller, the striker was delighted with how we opened the season and of course he told the Official Site that he hoped his goal was the first of many to come.

‘It was definitely good to get on the scoresheet early doors and it’s a shame that we didn’t win, but it was a positive start. I hit it well and if you get it on target, there’s always a chance it will go in and fortunately for me it went on the keepers near side. It’s nice to get the first goal with my first shot, so hopefully I can kick on from there.’

Cassidy goes on to say that he’ll continue working hard in training and hopefully the team will continue to create chances for him and he can continue taking advantage of them.

Referencing his time at Tranmere in his first two spells with them, he says he was full of confidence and it felt like everything he touched ended up the back of the net, so if he can recreate that now with us then everybody should be happy.
