Ahead of the game yesterday, left back Jordan Cranston signed an extension to his short term deal at the club.

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers defender joined the club in September on a deal keeping the 20 year old with us initially until January but following his efforts in training and his performances in the first team, the club and Shaun Derry were keen to keep him at the club for longer.

Since coming to us from Nuneaton Town, he has been a big part of our defensive success, making nine appearances for us including the victory over Barnsley and our No 33 has signed an 18 month extension to his original deal.

Speaking to the Official Site after the formalities were complete, the player said.

‘I didn’t really have a good pre season, but now I’m feeling like I belong and I’m settled. It wasn’t a hard decision. It’s first team football at the end of the day and I’m delighted to have secured my future.’

He goes on to say that he’s settled in really well and he’s looking forward to continuing his form and hopefully seeing us continue our form and we did just that against Barnsley and he ended by saying his aim is to remain in the team and he had to give his thanks to Derry and Greg Abbott for taking a chance on him, and to Mick Halsall who helped get the move in the first place.
