Manager Shaun Derry certainly isn’t going to be timid as we head into a difficult run of fixtures whilst looking to get ourselves out of the relegation places and he’s called on the team to really step up their home form as he knows that will be a real foundation for us to build from.

On the back of games against Peterbrough, Walsall and Preston, we now head into our next match against Coventry City and Derry told the Official Site that as far as he’s concerned it is a crucial game for us.

‘The home games will determine where we finish this season. It’s going to be horrible and gritty so we’re going to have to roll our sleeves up to try and get three points against another very good team. We’ve got a tough bunch of games at the minute, we found ourselves on the end of a spanking last week that didn’t sit well and then we lost against Preston.’

Derry goes on to say that the upcoming run of fixtures we have are going to be difficult for us, but this is what it is and there are no easy games in football, you simply have to stick together, give your all and rise to the challenge at every time of asking.

‘Let’s bring them on and I don’t want us to be making excuses.’

It will be an important game, as given how things stand we are in 22nd place and the three above us have one game in hand, and the two below us have two games in hand but we are only three points off the pace, and depending on how other results go, a win could see us level on points with 18th place which again would look healthier if nothing else.
