Notts County are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Richard Duffy in the one nil victory over Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend at Adams Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Duffy was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Notts County picked up an impressive 1-0 win away at Wycombe Wanderers, with a strong rearguard action laying the foundations for success. Duffy stood out amongst the backline after putting in a brilliant last-ditch block to deny the Chairboys from salvaging a point.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Duffy for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Dean Lyness (Blackpool), Richard Duffy (Notts County), Sonny Bradley (Plymouth Argyle), Mark Beevers (Bolton Wanderers), Matt Dolan (Yeovil Town), Callum Camps (Rochdale), Josh Payne (Crawley Town), George Cooper (Crewe Alexandra), Ivan Toney (Scunthorpe United), John Akinde (Barnet), Chris Porter).

Manager – Luke Williams (Swindon Town).
