Notts County have now confirmed that Joss Labadie has signed for Torquay on a permanent basis prior to the closure of the January transfer window.

Labadie had joined Torquay on loan initially, but ahead of the 11pm deadline a deal was struck with the player that saw him mutually terminate his contract with us, in order for him to make the move permanent as a free agent.

The 23 year old had proved a popular figure at Plainmoor having joined them on loan last season where he scored four goals in seven games prior to be recalled and given another shot here.

However thing didn’t work out as hoped, and he moved to them again at the beginning of January, and has again been impressive for them over three games and Torquay were interested in securing his services until the end of the season anyway, so with Labadie out of contract in the summer, is seemed to suit all parties when it came to the contract cancellation.

Having joined us in the summer of 2012, he had made a total of 50 appearances for the club across all competitions, and has scored three times for us.
