Notts County are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Louis Laing in the two one victory over Hartlepool at the weekend at Victoria Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Laing was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Laing turned in a star performance for Notts County as they picked up their first win of the season at Hartlepool United. The centre-back’s deft finish levelled matters, before turning provider for Jon Stead’s match-winning goal.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Laing for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Alex Cisak (Leyton Orient), Chris Lowe (Huddersfield Town), Louis Laing (Notts County), Scott Wootton (MK Dons), Tony McMahon (Bradford City), Josh Morris (Scunthorpe United), Gary Roberts (Portsmouth), John Welsh (Preston North End), Graham Carey (Plymouth Argyle), Oliver Burke (Nottingham Forest), Nicky Ajose (Charlton Athletic).

Manager Garry Monk (Leeds United).
