Gary Liddle has said he’s debating whether to ask Neal Bishop for a change of shirt numbers next season.

Liddle was handed the No8 shirt on his arrival at Meadow Lane but obviously dropped into the centre of defence following an injury to Manny Smith and following his Player of the Awards this season he says he’s eager to remain in defence and not return to the position he signed for which was in midfield.

Speaking to the Official Site he explained.

‘I’ve enjoyed it this season I must admit. Having been a first team player for seven years now people seem to think midfield is my position.’

He says having played half the games in defence last campaign he worked hard at the newish position, and he’s really enjoyed playing alongside Dean Leacock and that is where he sees himself moving forward with the club now.

‘Going into next season, I’d certainly like to nail down that position and become a master and not just a jack of all trades. I’m looking at Bish’s number, because four’s my lucky number so I might have a word with him.’
