Midfielder Robert Milsom has now signed a two year deal at Meadow Lane following his release by Rotherham United this summer.

The 28 year old began his career at Fulham as a fullback, and made his debut against Manchester United at Old Trafford back in 2009, and having taken in loan spells with Brentford, Southend and Finnish side Turun Palloseura, he then made the permanent switch to Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen where he moved into the midfield and left wing areas.

North of the border he made 53 appearances, scoring twice, before heading for Rotherham where he added 29 further appearances to his record, with an additional goal.

He helped them reach the League One Play Off Final and came on in the 77th minute at Wembley to help them secure promotion to the Championship.

He has most recently been out on loan with Bury.

In quotes carried by the Nottingham Post following his arrival, the player explained that promotion back to League One was the aim for him coming in this summer.

“I had a chat with the manager and I was really impressed with how he wants to play. He has big ambitions for this football club which is to get promoted and that appealed to me a lot. His style will suit the way I play. I will bring a lot of energy to the side and I’m versatile in that I can play a number of positions. But I know it will be a long hard season and one in which we will have to grind out results. Sometimes it won’t be pretty but the main aim is to get promoted at the end of the season.”
