Notts County ended a run of three consecutive defeats with a great three nil victory over Coventry last weekend, and midfielder Hayden Mullins believes that victory and the confidence boost it would’ve given the lads will be the perfect preparation for our game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In what was for many our best performance of the season, goals from Mullins himself, Jimmy Spencer and Alan Sheehan gave us a return of three much needed points, and it also helped lift us out of the relegation zone which carries it’s own confidence shot.

Speaking to the Official Site Mullins said on a personal level he was delighted to have got off the mark for the club since joining us on loan, especially as it was his full debut in our colours, and now he can’t wait to see if we can back that up with a very positive result against Wolves next weekend.

‘It was fantastic as I don’t get many especially playing a bit deeper in the middle. It was a great ball from Jamal (Campbell-Ryce) and I just managed to get on the end of it.’

As for the overall performance Mullins adds that everyone was terrific on the day and did their jobs perfectly for the 90 minutes, and he feels everyone can be very proud of their efforts, but what is important now is taking through to the next match and getting ourselves on an unbeaten run.

‘We needed the boost for everyone around the club, as we know we’re in a scrap. If we keep producing like that we know we won’t be far away at the end of the season.’

Few would put money on us taking a result at Wolves, but a point would be massive for us really, get us on an unbeaten run and give us a platform to build from.
