Notts County’s Academy set up has received a grant of over 55,000 Euros to tour abroad ahead of the 2014-15 campaign.

Academy Manager Mick Leonard applied to the Leonardo da Vinci programme for the funding for a bit of cultural exchange for the youngsters, and after a bit of toing and froing County have been awarded the sum following the strides we have made over recent years since its reintroduction four years ago.

Speaking to the Official Site Leonard said.

‘I’m hugely pleased about this news. I had to re-read the sum a few times to get my head around it! It will only enhance the programme as we go forward. I now believe we are up there as one of the best Academies at our level.’

He adds that touring abroad, seeing the different styles and training can only aid the youngsters as they progress in their development and he can’t wait for the tour to happen.
