Gary Liddle says that the fact Alan Sheehan and Joss Labadie have returned to pre season training with County shows that they both want to sign new deals.

Speaking to the Nottingham Post with the duo’s futures up in the air as the contracts offered are yet to be finalised, Liddle believes the fact they are back in training shows they want to impress and seek talks to find mutually agreeable resolutions.

However, he does accept this is guesswork on his part as obviously contract negotiations are confidential.

‘They haven’t told me anything, but they are here – and that must be a good sign. It does show that, although they haven’t signed, that they are working on things behind the scenes.’

Liddle says he bases that mainly on the fact that he assumes that if contracts had been rejected, they wouldn’t have returned, so talks must still be on going.

Yoann Arquin has also yet to sign the contract he was offered, but he’s currently away on international duty and will presumably rejoin pre season training and thrash out his deal, in the coming weeks.
