Notts County are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jon Stead in the three two victory over Leyton Orient at the weekend at Brisbane Road was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Stead was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Notts County ran out 3-2 winners at Leyton Orient in a crucial clash at the bottom of Sky Bet League Two, with Stead’s contribution to the cause proving vital. The striker set up the first and scored the second – albeit not his prettiest goal – before coolly placing home the Magpies’ winner.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Stead for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.
