Notts County are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Matt Tootle in the one nil victory over Barnet on Sunday at Meadow Lane was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Tootle was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Notts County were reduced to 10 men after just 11 minutes of their home fixture with Barnet, but that didn’t matter, with the Magpies running out 1-0 winners. Tootle ensured the Bees failed to make the most of their numerical advantage, and then smashed home a superb winner to seal the points.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Tootle for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.
