18 year old Tyrell Waite has talked about his joy at scoring his first ever career goal in the draw against Coventry.

The striker opened the scoring in the game and it’s a fantastic reward for him after starting our last three games. He’ll no doubt be hoping his end to the season will have seen him earn the offer of a new contract, as his current deal expires in July.

Speaking to the Official Site the youngster said.

‘It was a proud moment for myself and I’m happy to have had the chance to play in this first team. To score my first professional goal, I couldn’t have asked for much more from the last game of the season. Hopefully I’ve done myself justice and hopefully I’ll get a chance to play here next season.’

Three starts and one goal is certainly the right way for a striker to go about earning himself a new contract, and Tyrell obviously also thanks Chris Kiwomya for showing the faith in him to do a job on the pitch when called on – even though his match fitness was lacking at points.
