Manager Shaun Derry has today added former Carlisle midfielder Liam Noble to our playing staff for the coming campaign.

The 23 year old came through Sunderland’s youth ranks prior to being snapped up, initially on loan, by our now assistant manager Greg Abbott during his time at Carlisle.

He did well in that spell and Abbott again tempted him for a second loan spell the following season, and ultimately ended up signing him on a permanent basis in January 2012.

Noble moves to us on a free transfer as his contract with them expired this summer.

He played 40 times for them last season, scoring five goals, and his career stats read 127 starts, with a further 22 appearances from the bench, with a goal return of 22.
