Matt Hamshaw was voted for by supporters as their Player of the Season for 2008/09. The popular midfielder and former Mansfield player was delighted he picked up the award.

The other awards went to Myles Weston who picked up Managers Player of the Year and left back Jamie Clapham picked up Players Player of the Season.

Supporter Alan Higgott was rewarded for all his hard work behind the scenes with the annual Merit Award from the Supporters Club which was presented to him by popular striker Michael Johnson.

A Sausage and Mash dinner was served prior to the Annual Awards ceremony and following the awards an auction was held to raise funds for the Centre of Excellence with the top auction item, a Michael Johnson signed shirt going for £500 to the Magpie’s Chairman John Armstrong-Holmes.

Michael Johnson who has made a decision to stop playing after this season was awarded a special prize in recognition of his contribution to Notts County in his time at Meadow Lane.
