With the start of the season fast approaching the partnership up front of Luke Rodgers and Lee Hughes could be the start of something good
Ben Davis talking to the Nottingham Evening Post is of the opinion that something special will happen this season if this pairing is the main strike force.
The omens are already good with Rodgers already scoring 7 goals in five matches pre-season. Meanwhile Hughes has also got himself on the score sheet a few times including a strike against Florist during his first outing for County at Meadow Lane.
Talking to the NEP Davis said ‘They get on well off the pitch and they are a handful on it.
‘They are both strong and quick and if they hit it off they can be the best pairing in the league.’
With McParland still looking to bring in five more players including a striker competition for places up front could be stiff. It would now appear Westcarr, Canham, Facey and Fairclough could be well down the pecking order especially if the rumoured bid for Billy Sharp of Sheffield United is accepted.

Luke Rodgers is a good player and i can see him hitting the net a lot this season .
Christ, what a pair! Rodgers is always getting himself into bother and as for Lee Hughes, well, we all know his form. Could well be a good partnership though!
I reckon Hughes could be the Leagues top scorer this season…Rodgers not far behind but Hawley not so sure on.
