Chris Kiwomya has said he was delighted with the test posed by Galatasaray and he was very pleased with how we rose to the occasion.

For Kiwomya, he now wants the squad to maintain those standards when we hit the league proper.

Speaking to the Official Site following the narrow 2-1 loss, the gaffer said.

‘Galatasaray weren’t just passing it around, they had intensity to their game and they wanted to score goals. I think they had about eight or nine shots in the first 10 or 15 minutes, so you could see they were trying. We compete well with them and in the end we got a goal, which was deserved. It was a hard game but I thought we did well, it’s hard to find fault with the lads and that’s what I’ve said to them.’

Kiwomya says that if we can take those levels into the remaining pre season friendlies we should be very well placed come the start of the season.
