Manager Shaun Derry has made new signing Hayden Mullins the club skipper ahead of 2014-15.

Having played under Mullins as captain over a decade ago when they were both at Crystal Palace back in 2002, Derry described him as being a ‘proper’ captain and perfectly suited to lead our lads on the pitch in the coming season.

‘He is a true captain in all ways. When you are named as a captain so young it’s because you are a proper captain. He has been a proper captain throughout his career. When I spoke to him in the summer about coming to Notts, I had no doubt in my mind that I wanted him to come as captain.’

Mullins replaces the now departed Alan Sheehan as our skipper, and Mullins definitely has the game knowledge and the match experience to make his thoughts known on the pitch and off it in the coming campaign.
