MK Dons boss Karl Robinson was quick to praise his star man Clinton Morrison after the player was responsible for setting up a goal and scoring one against Notts County.

Morrison is currently on a month`s loan from Sheffield Wednesday and the Dons boss admits that he would love to keep him at the club beyond his initial loan spell.

He told the Press Association: ‘If he keeps putting in performances like that he’s going to keep the crowd, me and the rest of the players very happy. I would love to keep him but you’ve got to respect the fact that he’s come from a massive club and been at the highest level, so you can imagine the difficulties of getting him to come and play for the likes of us. We’re punching well above our weight and we’re second in the league.’

County did make it slightly easier than you would have hoped for the Dons with Julian Kelly getting sent off for making a save on the line with his hand.

And then Allen`s men had to deal with Morrison who looked to be in the mood to do something good, so after setting a goal up, he scored one which helped make 100% sure of the points and lift MK Dons up to second place in the league.

Robinson continued: ‘Clinton deserved his goal with the way he plays and the way he moves the ball – his hold-up play is brilliant.

‘He’s a great fella, I really like him. People said that I would have problems with him – I’ve had arguments with him, I tell him what I think and respect him and I’ll always be there for him 100%”.
