Dean Leacock, Gary Liddle and Mustapha Dumbuya could all return and play some part in this weekends game against Leyton Orient.

All three players were back in training this week, and Liddle got a run out in a behind closed doors training friendly in midweek and manager Shaun Derry hasn’t ruled out a return for all three in some capacity, although you wouldn’t expect any of them yet to figure anywhere else other than on the bench at this stage of their recoveries.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, the gaffer also said this weekend would be a great chance for the team to show our result against Rotherham was a one off, even though he admits this season we’ve had way too many one offs and that does play its part in where we find ourselves in the table.

‘This is us now as a collective group – manager, staff, players, fans, local press – we are where we are because it’s not been right and it’s time now it stops. It’s only the lads now that can get us out of it and I’m pleading for support this weekend.’

Derry says he understands that plenty within the stands will be angry and frustrated at how things have gone and with people at the club, but he calls on them to harness that and channel it into everything they can give to drive the players on.

‘Anything other than positive support will have an adverse effect on us out there – I know that because I know what’s in the building.’

Two way street really, if the players give the fans something to shout about the fans will willingly oblige, but they are the ones who need to stand up and be counted.
