Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Zeli Ismail has been forced to cut his loan spell with us short following injury.

The 20 year old has now undergone surgery to repair his cartilage and he will be unfortunately sidelined for between four to six months, so his very impressive spell with us has now been cut short so he can return to his parent club for treatment and rehabilitation.

During his time at Meadow Lane he made 16 appearances for us, scoring four goals and speaking to the Official Site prior to his departure, he said.

‘I picked up the injury at a time when I was playing and things were going really well both for me and the team. We were third in the table at the time and I had managed to chip in with a few goals. Unfortunately it keeps me out for four to six weeks, which is pretty much the rest of the season. No one wants an injury like this, but it is part of football.’

Ismail goes on to say that it’s important now to be strong and positive so he can come through this, recover well and be in the position where he can kick on again come the next season, and he was full of praise for the club for putting their faith in him and he admitted he loved his time with us, he is grateful for the opportunity and he feels that he has definitely developed as a player during his weeks with us.
