Gary Liddle can’t better last season having played every minute in every league game and winning all our top Awards at the end of the season, but his challenge now is to repeat that.

Speaking to the Nottingham Post the 27 year old talked about his first season as a County player and said that having already talked to Chris Kiwomya, he knew the challenge now would be for him to prove he could do all that again and even step up his importance during matches.

‘I spoke to the manager before we left and he said the test is whether I can go on and do it again. Hopefully I’ll go some way to matching what I did last season, if not bettering it.’

Liddle added that having returned to pre season training now the difference from years ago is remarkable as all the lads have turned up lean and ready to go having taken care of themselves during their time off.

In the remainder of the interview he also discusses the change in the playing staff with important people leaving, but the optimism for the future.
