Magpies Eyes On Chester Grin

The Magpies can do rivals Grimsby a big favour today if they beat Chester. Chester are 23rd in the table and 3 points behind town despite being unbeaten in their last three games (sadly all draws). County are also unbeaten in 4 with a pretty much-settled side looking favourites as long as the draw curse does not haunt us. The Magpies will be without defender Stephen Hunt (ankle) for the clash with Jamie Clapham, Michael Johnson, Adam Tann and Matt Hamshaw all expected to shake off minor niggles.

Says the Boss, ‘I want to win every game between now and the end of the season – that’s how I look at things. It doesn’t matter if it’s the start, middle or end – we are paid to win football matches. I want to finish on a high and get a feel good factor so we can progress again.’

Magpies target Ryan Lowe will want to impress McParland just in case Chester are relegated into the Blue Square Premier at the end of the season, He certainly made an impression when he scored in a shock 2-0 win against the Magpies in mid-December.
Despite not having won in 18 matches, Chester City manager Mark Wright said he could not ask for any more from his players following Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Bradford City.
