A statement has been issued by the Notts County Supporters’ Trust following an investigation involving a former Trust Board member

The Notts County Supporters Trust have issued a statement covering the recent departure of Mike Scott from the Trust Board. That statement reads as follows.

At beginning of Wednesday’s Trust Board meeting, one member Mike Scott was subject to disciplinary investigation on account of action detrimental to the interests of the Society. This relates to an un-authorised statement to the Nottingham Evening Post (printed 25th February 2009), and walking out of Trust Board meeting on 5th March 2009 having proposed a motion that had been duly seconded.

The Trust Board considered these actions very damaging to the Trust and Club in which it is a major shareholder. The Board voted to suspend Mike Scott for a period of four months.

In addition to this the Board also considered that Mike Scott had now failed to attend three consecutive meetings without good cause. These meetings were on 23rd March, 26th March and 1st April. The Trust Board takes non-participation by members very seriously, and was compelled under Trust rule 63a to vote on the matter. The Trust Board has voted that Mike Scott vacate the office Society Board member with immediate effect.
