Notts County are very likely to see if they can extend the loan spell of striker Cristian Montano from West Ham.

The impressive 19 year old was initially brought to Meadow Lane for month but after doing so well and scoring the first goal of his career against Charlton, manager Martin Allen would like to keep him for longer.

It`s no secret that Allen is looking for a striker, but even if Montano stays, that search will continue.

Allen told the Nottingham Evening Post: ‘He’s only young and it’s his first time playing senior football. He can’t believe what he’s doing – he absolutely loves it here.

‘He loves every minute of what he is doing. I put him up front against Tranmere as a bit of a gamble because he’s got a lot of pace.

‘He did well when we played them over the river, he had good spells against Charlton and I thought by putting him up front he would be good alongside Hughesy because of his energy to get at them and that’s how it worked.

‘He was unlucky not to score. He’s got a great scoring record.’

Before his loan ends, Montano is eligible to play in three more league games.
