Yeovil had their substitutes Andrew Williams and Steve MacLean to thank for their 1-0 victory over Notts County on Saturday.

And it was a real boosting win for the men in green as the three points lifted them out of the relegation zone.

The pair had only been on the pitch for a few moments when they linked together to score the only goal of the game with less than two minutes remaining on the clock and it was so simple when it came, McLean simply lofted over a centre that hung in the air and Williams found himself in acres of space to head home.

It was a highlight of a dull affair, Alan Judge having the best chances, firstly he looked to have a chance while inside their penalty area but slipped when he was about to pull the trigger.

Then midway through the first half Judge again had another chance but this time his effort smashed against the underside of the bar and came out.

All the home side manage to do in the second half was pick up bookings as they struggled and got more and more frustrated.
